• Estimating the returns to R&D
Including R&D capital in production functions; estimation using static and dynamic panel data models. Some measurement issues. Knowledge production function. Estimation of private and social rates of return. Spillovers.
• Measurement and estimation of the determinants and the effects of innovation
Innovation survey data; qualitative indicators; accounting for innovation, Crépon-Duguet-Mairesse (CDM) model
• R&D tax incentives
Rationale for policy intervention. Additionality. Effectiveness
• R&D subsidies
Endogeneity. Evaluation methods
